Ken performs technical editing and digital design (layout and graphics) on his own projects and on client projects. Being an author with a passion for creating simplified presentations of technically complex subjects, he can assist with most any form of editing, presentation, formatting, screen recording, book production, and design projects.
Ken specializes in taking content and working with you to create written and visual results that is best suited for the intended audience. This can be in the form of books, eBooks, user guides, articles, blogs, brand identity guides, newsletters, and contract proposals. (He can technically write, too!)

You’ve created a book that you want to get it on Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP)? Since InDesign CC is regarded as the best authoring tool for books, it used to be a mess to convert your book to look decent as a Kindle eBook. Exports to an interim eBook format, beta plug-ins, third-party apps, and manual editing of EPUB/HTML/MOBI files was a pain. He wrote InDesign to Kindle on how to do it. Even with “black magic,” the resultant Kindle eBooks may not look that good (and definitely not as good as a paperback).
Amazon has come to the rescue with the Kindle Create app. Preparing and translating a book’s content, however, can still be quite a challenge. (BTW, Ken can prepare your book for Apple Books by converting your book for iBooks Author.)

With most projects that Ken works on, no project is complete without a handoff instructional specification delivered to the client. To safeguard work, version control backup is used at key milestones. A running activity log is also created summarizing how the work was performed. The benefit is that once a project is completed (D-U-N-N), the client (or another freelancer) should be able to update it later.
He recently completed a design project created a company logo and background art to be used for display monitor wallpaper, website animation, and mousepad:
Tools used included Adobe Illustrator CC, Affinity Photo, and Photoshop CC. Download the sample project’s specifications (including “how to” instructions):
